Baptism

By water and the Holy Spirit we are made members of the Church which is the body of Christ. Baptism workshops for parents, expectant parents, sponsors and grandparents of infants and young children are held regularly. A Baptism Review Workshop is held for parents who have already had a child baptized at St. Philip the Deacon and wish to have another child baptized. A family-centered workshop to prepare children in grades 2 through 5 for the reception of their first communion is offered three times per year. Children and their parents make the decision when to enroll. Children are ready for instruction when they start asking questions about their faith and Holy Communion. If you receive Holy Communion in your home congregation you are welcome to receive Holy Communion at St. Philip the Deacon. Holy Communion is celebrated each Saturday, the first Sunday of the month, Festival of the Lord Sundays as well as Mondays following Communion Sundays.
