Every Thursday, we send parents of Faith Creek students (St. Philip the Deacon's preschool through 5th grade Church School) a short e-mail that provides a summary of what their children will be studying during the upcoming weekend. Our hope is that this tool helps parents have good discussions with their children after they attend Faith Creek. You can sign up to receive these e-mails by entering your e-mail address in the upper left-hand corner of any page of our web site, and follow the instructions -- make sure you click the "Faith Creek Preview" distribution list, and you should start receiving them on the following Thursday.
A sample of the Faith Creek Preview follows so you can see what kind of information you will receive by subscribing to this service.

Preschool
This weekend, your child will be learning about the amazing story of the first Easter ( Matthew 28:1-15 and John 20:1-18). On that Sunday morning, some women went to visit Jesus' grave. When they arrived, the stone had been moved and when they entered the tomb they discovered that Jesus was gone. Mary Magdalene ran to tell Peter and John that someone had taken Jesus, but the other women remained. Two angels appeared to them and told them to tell His disciples that He was alive! When Peter and John arrived at the tomb, they did not see Jesus or the angels and returned home. But Jesus Himself appeard to Mary Magdalene. She didn't recognize Him at first, but when she realized it was Him she was so happy and told His disciples that He had risen! The cross is the sad half of the story, but the happy half is that Jesus lives!

This weekend, your child will be learning about Easter morning when some women went to visit Jesus' grave (John 20:1-18) . When they arrived, the stone had been moved. Mary Magdalene ran to tell Peter and John that the stone had been rolled away. On the way, Jesus stopped and talked to them. How would you feel if you were able to see Jesus on Easter morning? What would you say to Him?

1-5 Grade Large Group
This week your child will be studying the Easter Story. You may ask your child to tell you the story. Your child learned that Jesus rose again after he died on the cross. This is why Easter is such a celebration! Jesus is alive! How can we "tell" others the good news about Jesus? Who can we "tell"?
