Faith & Life Continues with Kevin Kling April 15

Please join us Friday, April 15, as the 2010-2011 Faith & Life Lecture Series concludes with a talk by local playwright and storyteller Kevin Kling. Kling, whose popular commentaries can regularly be heard on National Public Radio's All Things Considered, will speak on "Faith & Healing: Storytelling and Spiritual Health." This free public event is at 7:00 p.m. at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church.

About Kevin Kling

Kevin Kling is well-known for his hilarious, tender narratives from storytelling stage shows like Scarecrow on Fire and Tales from the Charred Underbelly of the Yule Log. He has released a number of compact disc collections of his stories, and is the author of The Dog Says How and Kevin Kling's Holiday Inn, which, among other things, includes the story of a wiener dog with an amazing capacity for destruction. Kling was born with a congenital birth defect -- his left arm is about three-quarters the size of his right arm, and his left hand has no wrist or thumb. In 2001, Kling was in a motorcycle accident which pulled the brachial plexus nerves in his right arm completely out of their sockets. Currently, he has partial use of his left arm and cannot use his right arm at all.

Finding the Lecture

St. Philip the Deacon is located at 17205 County Road Six in Plymouth. This talk -- like all Faith & Life events -- is free and open to the public thanks to the generosity of our sponsors.
