The Faith & Life Lecture Series -- a community service of St. Philip the Deacon -- exists to create public forums where people from the larger Twin Cities community can hear nationally known speakers reflect on how Christian faith is intersects with different dimensions of everyday life.
Begun in 2003, Faith & Life events have featured best-selling author Philip Yancey, Habitat for Humanity President Jonathan Reckford, PBS travel guru Rick Steves, and ABC News Medical Editor Dr. Timothy Johnson.
The lectures, held in a variety of area venues, last about 50 minutes, followed by a brief period for Q&A after the presentation by the speaker. After the Q&A, speakers are generally available for one-on-one discussion with members of the audience during an informal reception.
Thanks to the generosity of corporate and individual sponsors, all Faith & Life events are entirely free and open to the public.
At most lectures, material by the speaker or related to the lecture subject -- books, CDs, or artwork -- is available for sale.
