The observance of Holy Week begins the weekend of March 27-29 with Palm/Passion Sunday during our regular weekend services.
We gather for worship on Maundy Thursday (April 1) at 7 pm. After we celebrate the sacrament, we watch in silence as the altar is stripped bare.
Children are encouraged to attend the Good Friday Children’s Service at 5:30 pm on April 2. The meaning of the death of Christ will be explored in a simple age appropriate way in this interactive service. A traditional Good Friday service will be held at 7 pm. This service takes shape around three events: the reading of the passion, the bidding prayer, and the adoration of the cross.
All of this serves to prepare us for a glorious celebration of the resurrection of Christ on Easter weekend April 3 – 5. Worship times are as follows:
Saturday, 5:30 pm;
Sunday, 8:30, 9:45, 11:15 a.m. (note later time for this service), and 5:30 p.m.;
Monday, 7:00 p.m.
