House Groups are the core of the Sr. High Ministry at St. Philip the Deacon. House Groups are small communities of students and adults who gather weekly to grow together and learn how to live based on the ways of Jesus. House Groups will learn together God’s story and their own by forming trusting friendships, praying together, serving others, and learning what their gifts are so that they may use them for God’s Glory!
House Groups gather in homes once a week for a shared meal (or snack), a time to share what is going on in their lives, and a discussion.
House Groups will also meet outside of the homes about once a month to experience a service opportunity, retreat, or a special event.
Trained adults facilitate House Groups. They are there to serve the house community by sharing in the lives with the youth, caring for them and encouraging an environment where growth can happen.
