The Next Parent Connection

How to raise your kids ethically, Thursday, April 11th @ 7:00pm

All parents have concerns about how their children will be raised.  They hope that they will be strong, courageous, intelligent, capable, and devoted in their faith.  We also desire for them to have good character.  How do we raise our children to have ethics? 

In our next presentation, Gerri FIsher, a member of our congregation and a licensed parent educator will discuss with us the tools we have to raise our kids with good character and ethics.   The session will raise the following questions:

• What do we know about the moral development of children?  
• What do kids/humans need to have or do to live ethically?  
• What factors affect the moral development of kids?  
• What are the primary ways kids acquire values which apply to day-to-day situations?  
• What situations might we encounter from which our children learn our true values?  
• How can we promote the development of empathy within our kids?  
• What do we know about lying and how we might want to handle it?  
• How can we help our kids develop a sense of charity?
