One of our mission partners for the 2011-2014 Called and Sent Capital Appeal is Opportunity International, a Christian non-profit that provides small business loans, savings, insurance and training to over two million people working their way out of poverty in the developing world.
Specifically, St. Philip the Deacon is partnering with O.I. in Colombia to help individuals there start or expand businesses, provide for their families, create jobs for their neighbors and build a safety net for the future.
To see how our gifts are making a difference in the lives of people in Colombia, Pastor Tim Westermeyer and SPD members Jim and Evonne Pedersen will lead a trip to Colombia from February 12 through February 18, 2012.
A planning meeting for this trip will be held on Thursday, July 28th at 7:00 p.m. at Jim and Evonne Pedersen’s home – 2500 Crescent Ridge Road, Minnetonka 55305. At this meeting, you’ll have a chance to ask questions and learn more about details of the trip to help you prayerfully decide whether you may want to travel to Colombia next February with a group from St. Philip the Deacon.
