Retreats

Retreats are an important part of how we build relationships with God and with one another.  During the year we will offer several opportunities for students to participate in a retreat. Confirmation students are required to participate in one retreat (however, they may choose to participate in more!).

We work very hard to come up with options that are meaningful, yet have enough flexibility to work with families’ busy schedules. Our vision for retreats is to develop a sense of community among small groups, the middle school program, and the St. Philip the Deacon community at large. In order for that to happen you must commit to the entire event—no late drop offs, no early pick-ups.

NOTE: The registration fees paid for retreats/trips do not stay at St. Philip the Deacon. They are paid ahead of time to the camps and retreat centers. Because of this, deposits and registration fees are non-refundable.

Winter Ski Retreat
Each February, the Middle Schoolers take off for a weekend of powdery snow, shushing down the slopes of one of our local ski resorts, while enjoying fellowship, Bible study and worship. Dates for the trip are February 21-22nd, 2009. We usually stay within 2 hours of the Twin Cities and stay at a local hotel. More details and trip cost will be available in early January 2009.

Summer  Trips
Each summer, we respond to God’s call to love one another by serving.  Our mission trips include the opportunity to meet new people and follow in Jesus footsteps as we do various service projects at our mission destination.  Trip details for next summer will be available in January.
