Create in Me...

The Soul Sisterhood Retreat, a ministry of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, is a week-long adventure for girls between the ages of 11 and 14. We inspire young women to learn new skills, discover new passions, make new friends and build confidence through fearless trying and creating—all in a Christ-centered, supportive environment. It’s an opportunity to create in God’s name, while asking God to create a renewed spirit and strength in each of us. Every day, the girls explore practical and creative skills for living in God’s world as they work to earn their “merit badges” for each fun activity. At the end of the week, their badges show how many things they’ve accomplished!
Freeing girls to be fearless

Today’s world is a scary place for young women who are faced with constant criticisms and demands to be perfect. How can you build up the courage to try new things when the possibility of failure is around every corner? Through an understanding of the Bible’s definition of perfection we’ll show how we are all perfect (already!) through God’s true, complete love—so there’s nothing to fear! Combining this understanding with new adventures, girls will grow in their relationship with God and with other brave young women as we affirm one another’s gifts.
