Create in Me...

The Soul Sisterhood Retreat, a ministry of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, is a week-long adventure for pre-teen and teen girls. We inspire young women to learn new skills, discover new passions, make new friends and build confidence through fearless trying and creating—all in a Christ-centered, supportive environment. It’s an opportunity to create in God’s name, while asking God to create a renewed spirit and strength in each of us. Each day, the girls explore practical and creative skills for living in God’s world as they work to earn their “merit badges” for each fun activity. At the end of the week, their badges show how many things they’ve accomplished!

Girls today are faced with the challenge of figuring out who they are in a world that constantly tells them who they are SUPPOSED to be. We all have the capacity to put beauty into the world, whatever that may look like. As we embark on a remarkable week of self-discovery and affirmation of whom God created us to be, we will explore ideas of identity, relationships, and creativity. Open yourself up to the beauty of God that lives within--and let it out!
