Special Events

Throughout the program year (September-May), we offer many different opportunities for students to learn and grow in faith, as well as build relationships with each other and caring Christian adults.

Girls Day Out! : January 19th

 Event Cost: $25 (covers food, craft supplies, and dinner)

A day off from school doesn’t have to mean a day off from friends! All Middle School Girls are invited to spend Monday, January 19 together for a Girls Day Out. We will be going to the Mall of America for some retail therapy, go out to dinner, then come back to church for an evening of pampering, crafts and snacks. Dinner and all activities included. Additional money may be brought for shopping. We will meet at church at 1:00 pm, carpool to the MOA, and then be finished for the evening at 7:00 pm. Middle School Girls Group--New Session begins January 26th

Girls Group is a great opportunity for middle school ladies to encounter God, enjoy Christian friendships, and explore their imagination and creativity. Each Girls Group session will involve spending time in God’s Word, a hands-on experience, and sharing in a snack or meal. All 6-8th grade girls are invited to be a part of this terrific group. We meet on Monday evenings from 6-7:30 pm at Amanda's house. Girls group is broken up into a series of 6-week blocks that run throughout the program year. Each 6-week session is $30 and include a book and most craft supplies. In January, we begin a new session that focuses on such topics as body image, fashion, make up, self esteem and other topic from a Christian perspective.

The promises of the Bible are many, but Jesus proclaims boldly in John that he has come that we may have life and have it to the full. This new youth opportunity will help you to unlock the promises in the Bible as we spend time together in God’s Word. We will meet on Sunday evenings in the Learning Center from 5:45-6:45 pm. We will share in a meal and then use our time together for learning about God’s call for us in a fun and exciting ways! Cost: $5 for the meal. This new Bible study experience replaces what was previously Breakfast Club on Sunday mornings.  We meet January 11, 18, and 25.

Middle School Ski Trip

Join us February 21-22 for our annual ski trip.  We will be meeting at 8:00 am on Saturday the 21st and heading down to Buck Hill in Burnsville, MN. After a full day of skiing/snowboarding, we will check in at the Holiday Inn Express in Lakeville for the night, where we will have access to a pool and water slides.  On Sunday morning, we will worship with a local congregation before once again hitting the slopes.  We will return to St. Philip the Deacon around 4:00 pm on Sunday.  Registrations may be picked up from Amanda and are due by February 1st!
Early Bird Registration (by Feb. 1): $125
Late Registration (after Feb.1 and subject to availability): $150
 
Registration covers: Lift Tickets, Lodging, Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast.  Additional money should be brought to covers snacks/lunches and rentals.
